The Spear and Jackson Select Carbon Border Fork is a versatile digging and cultivating tool designed for working in confined spaces and lighter ground preparation tasks. Offering a lighter alternative to a full-sized digging fork, this border fork features a compact head size of 230mm x 138mm, making it ideal for working between established plants, cultivating raised beds, and turning soil in narrow borders where a standard fork would be too cumbersome. Built with a carbon steel head and socket that has been heat treated for strength, this fork is engineered to exceed BS3388 British Standard load tests, ensuring reliable performance for both professional landscapers and dedicated gardeners. The powder coated finish provides excellent resistance to rust, scratches, humidity and alkalis commonly found in soil, extending the tool’s working life even in demanding conditions. The 37-inch overall length incorporates an ergonomic softgrip handle that reduces hand fatigue during extended use, while the forward tilt design ensures an optimal digging angle for efficient ground penetration and reduced strain. This combination of thoughtful design and quality materials reflects Spear and Jackson’s 250 years of toolmaking expertise, delivering a contemporary border fork that balances affordability with professional-grade durability.
